Product Reviews I have recently been reading about 'Minimalist' running shoes and running with a mid/forefoot strike. I actually found these shoes at Kohl's for $64.99. My regular size seemed a little tight, so I decided to go a half size larger. I'm not sure if they are meant to be worn without socks, but I wear socks. I usually wear shoes with a lot of cushioning and a heel cup because I tend to run and walk on the outside of my feet due to high arches. I found that I would suffer from tendonitis on the outside of my left lower leg. I am certainly not a high mileage runner and have all but quit running over the past several months. I started running/walking in these shoes this week and am working on retraining my running stride to a mid/forefoot technique. After using them a few times, the shoes seem very flexible and very light. I've been increasing my runtime this week and actually ran 3 miles today for the first time in a long time. I found no problems with these shoes or any tendonitis. My calves were a little sore, but, from what I understand, that is to be expected when learning to run with a mid/forefoot strike. These shoes are advertised as low-mileage shoes, so I'm not sure if they would be acceptable for individuals who log a lot of miles weekly. However for individuals who run a few miles several times a week, they seem fine. These shoes, I'm sure, are not the minimalist of the minimalist shoes. But, I think they may be a good transition for people who are looking to try a minimalist shoe without going completely flat. I can't compare them to other minimalist shoes as I haven't tried any yet, but, so far, these seem like a good shoe.
